Experiments with watercolours

I've avoided watercolours. While I have some beautiful watercolours by others hanging in my home, I felt the washed out colours and faded tones were not really for me.

Then last weekend, I found an art case ( a christmas present from at least 10 years ago) and when I opened it, all the materials had been used except the watercolours (and the linseed oil - but that's for another day....)

I've been thinking about those watercolours all week, and this morning thought I'd have a play.

I've had great fun, seeing how they can be used, and I'm pleased with my first playful results.
